Brazilian Firespike

Bejewelled with the remnants of very recent rain, the flowers of this odontonema tubaeforme were very striking, the red color glowing to attract pollinators like hummingbird moths. We found it interesting that red seems to be the predominant color for flowers in this dense world of green tropical rain forest.
