Brightly painted carriages, their horses dozing while the drivers smoke, chat, or read newspapers, patiently wait for customers in the Plaza del Triunfo next to the huge Seville Cathedral, the world's largest Gothic church. This hub and spokes (“cubo y los rayos”) of a carriage caught my eye as a symbol for the intense summer sun in the south of Spain.
