Alcázar Pool

Córdoba, Spain, in the summer is hot. Very hot. But over a thousand years ago the Moors developed a system of providing water to their luxurious gardens using water wheels and aqueducts. Here, in the gardens of Córdoba’s Alcázar (fortress), thin jets of water, still gravity fed, arc into the air over long reflecting pools creating a gentle sound while enhancing the light and shadow of the reflected surrounding plantings.
