Sand Riffles

Along the coast of Oregon, many of the beaches are amazingly flat. Small streams often wash across the beach creating ripples and riffles in the sand as the fresh water moves towards the sea. Here at Short Sand Beach near Cape Falcon in Oswald West State Park, Kerwin Creek gently flows across the sand.
