I guess I am a bit of a sucker for the visual complexity of a nautical junkyard. Out on Rocky Neck in Gloucester, Massachusetts, is an operating marine railway, a concern that hauls boats up out of the water on rails to have their bottoms scraped or whatever other repairs are necessary. All around the wharves are piles of fishing gear, floats, traps, nets, ropes, etc. I was attracted by this group of ropes within ropes, the container being the thing contained.
