Bugger Café

On our first morning on the North Island of New Zealand, we headed off to the Coromandel Peninsula from our b & b without having had any real coffee. Surely we would find a good café along the way, this being the land of really really great coffee. And sure enough, as we passed through Pipiroa at the base of the Firth of Thames, the Bugger Café loomed ahead. Of course we had to stop. And the coffee was indeed really really great. It also seems that the highest court in New Zealand has now declared that “bugger” is a perfectly ok word for common usage. Who knew?
