This particular juniper tree, desiccated and twisted, contorted roots exposed after years hugging the rocks in the desert environment of Red Canyon, I call Mephistopheles. I like to think of this gentleman as an embodiment of the ageless representative of the underworld making his courtly bow, revealing his true personality and the fires of hell.
