Hilo Farmers Market

In the heart of historic Hilo, the Farmers Market is justifiably famous and is frequented by visitors as well as locals. The variety of tropical vegetables and fruits is amazing. When things are in season, great bargains are to be had. The day we were there, papayas were very plentiful, and at 3 for a dollar were a fantastic bargain. For me there is nothing quite like a very ripe papaya with fresh lime juice for breakfast. Needless to say, we feasted!
