Bride and Groom

Kent Twitchell’s giant mural, “Bride and Groom,” done in the early 1970s, was the first mural done on the exterior of the Victor Clothing Company building in downtown LA. My parents, both photographers, had visited Los Angeles many times to study various aspects of the then-current Southern California scene, and had photographed this monumental work at about the time it had been painted. How refreshing for me, then, to be wandering around downtown LA in 2015 while waiting to take a plane to New Zealand, to find this familiar couple staring at me like old friends.
