Witch Hill

Just to the south of Christchurch is a line of hills separating it from Lyttleton, Christchurch’s port town. Actually, the Port Hills are a collapsed volcano and Lyttleton is located in its old caldera, now filled in by the sea. At the top of Rapaki Track, one of the walking paths into the hills, is Witch Hill, standing alone in open countryside. Just to the right of the Witch Hill peak is Rapaki Rock, a rock-climbing location popular among beginning climbers.
