Owharoa Falls
Just off the main road through the Karangahake Gorge, an old gold mining region, nearly hidden down a small short trail, is the beautifully ribboned Owharoa Falls (pronounced like oh-fah-row-a). There are so many waterfalls in New Zealand, one feels almost that they become ho-hum. But this little gem, albeit not tall, was just the right view for a picnic spot.
