Falls on the Waiho

Gushing out from under the receding face of the Franz Josef Glacier at an elevation of only about 900 feet, the Waiho River ribbons its way down to the Tasman Sea. Along the steep sides of the glaciated valley, many small streams and rivulets tumble down from the mountain heights above to the glacial till below, especially during a rainstorm as on this day.
