Burano Fondamenta

Located in the Lagoon a few miles north of Venice, the island of Burano is known as the fisherman’s island and is famous for lace made by the island’s women. But in recent years, Burano has become more famous for its brightly painted houses. Without the maddening crowds of Venice, Burano offers a much calmer sojourn just a short ferry ride away.

This fondamenta, Fondamenta Cao di Rio a Destra, is the sidewalk that runs alongside Rio Terranova, the eastern-most canal on Burano.
