Rovinj Harbor
Once an island town but connected to the mainland in 1763, Rovinj (Rovigno in Italian) was a major town of the Venetian Republic. Its classic Venetian-style bell tower dominates the skyline, while brightly painted buildings skirt the harbor. It is a major tourist resort area, and a major pleasure boat port, and it is difficult finding any place in town that is not crowded, even in the off season.
