Swan And Cygnets

The Eastern Point section of Gloucester, Massachusetts is the location of many notable houses, including “Beauport,” the amazing summer home of Henry Davis Sleeper — a sprawling maze of over forty rooms, gables and turrets. But in the center of Eastern Point is Niles Pond, the home of many pairs of mute swans. Stopping by the pond side during a spring bike ride, this swan steamed right over to me, cygnets in tow, in hopes of a handout. What a disappointment to have to dunk for pond weeds instead.
