In the hills of Piedmont in northwestern Italy, Valdivilla is a small town perched on the slopes above its vineyards. This is the region famous for wines with names like Barbera, Barbaresco, and probably the most famous of all Italian wines, Barolo. (Sounds like Goldilocks and the Three Bars!) We pedaled our bikes through this region, one of the most beautiful places on earth. Everywhere we looked were vineyards, and perched on the tops of nearly every hill were ancient villages, their church towers prominently visible for miles.
