At the northern end of Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island in Maine are the twin peaks called “The Bubbles.” After a bike ride around the park on some of the carriage roads (barred to cars), we enjoyed a very welcome lunch at the Jordan Pond House at the southern end of the pond, a meal which included the traditional popovers and fresh lemonade.
