About a mile off shore from South Freeport, Maine, Bustins Island is a small island with just over a hundred summer houses — no running water, no electricity, pretty basic off-the-grid living. All around the shore of the island, the rocks at mid- and low-tide are covered with beautiful, waving yellow-green rockweed. Little coves disappear as the tide comes in hiding the sinuous plants adhering to the rocks.
