While on a bicycle trip in the Périgord Noir region in south central France, we came across a perfect spot for a picnic lunch near the small village of Envaux on the banks of the Dordogne. We were on our way to Château des Milandes, former home of Josephine Baker, the popular American dancer of the 20s and 30s, but we tarried in this lovely spot to enjoy our lunch amongst the punts with a great view of reflecting poplars along the shore across the river.
