Elmwood Afternoon
On a visit to Berkeley, California near where I once lived as a child, I looked up at the clerestory windows of a shop across College Avenue in the Elmwood shopping district. Reflected in the century-old glass with all its slumps and wibbles was what appeared to be a California landscape. I was attracted by the typical colors of the coastal hills in the late summer, yellow grass and the deep greens of live oaks and scrub coyote bush. In all honesty, I have no idea what exactly was being reflected.
