Adriatic Dawn

Early morning at the harbor of Poreč, the sun just coming up over the mountains of Croatia, and there is still a chill in the air. We waited on the dock for the arrival of the ferry which would speed us across the Adriatic to Venice, three hours away. The first rays, reflected off of the Grand Hotel Palazzo at the edge of the harbor, danced across the surface of the water like little wisps of golden fire.
