Shoots Poke Through
A few ferns, some small ‘ōhi‘a plants, some spindly trees here and there find footings in cracks, buckles, and fissures in the otherwise harsh environment of the Kilauea Iki Crater. The crater floor can be blisteringly hot under full sun, but we were thankful for a cool and wet rainy day.
