Alpine Flowers

These tiny pink flowers were growing on an old lava flow at an altitude of about 5600 feet in the saddle between the two giant volcanoes, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Honeybees are attracted by their sweet nectar and commercial hives were nearby.
