We spent a couple of hours in the Mercado Ignacio Ramirez, the main covered market in central San Miguel de Allende. Working with a local chef/guide, we were introduced to many of the vendors, sampled some of their wares, learned about the differences in chilies, and discovered new fruits, vegetables, and concoctions we did not know before. It was a morning to fill the senses, and was followed by cooking some of the items we procured in the market for a very sumptuous and nutritious meal at the home of our chef/guide.
