Gran Teatro de la Habana

Just opposite old Havana’s Parque Central, the Gran Teatro, built in 1838 in the grandest style of its day, is still a major cultural center, home to ballet, opera, even art films. Local and visiting groups perform here amidst the slightly tattered elegance yet imposing surroundings.
