On the Millpond
We paddled our kayak quietly to the headwaters of Randall’s Lake near Argyle Head, Nova Scotia, to where an ancient mill had once stood. A bald eagle flew overhead as we slowly drifted in the gentle current. Evening was falling and bringing on the golden hues of the setting sun. All around us were clumps of pickerelweed sticking up above the water’s surface, creating some lovely compositions.
