Menemsha Ropes #1

Out on Martha's Vineyard, one of the islands just off the southern coast of Massachusetts, fishing is still a thriving industry. The main harbor for the western part of the island is Menemsha. Here you will find dozens of commercial fishing boats, lobster boats, tuna boats, and sport fishing boats all sharing the same docks. Scattered along the wharf one finds the usual detritus of the fishing industry; old nets, floats, wire, ropes, barrels, traps, and other assorted remnants of yesterday's fishing expedition, perhaps waiting for tomorrow's voyage.

Some of the scattered materials are quite colorful such as these frayed plastic ropes.
